Lisa Cohn has worked as a writer for more than 20 years, focusing on topics ranging from parenting to environmental issues.

Lisa has received nine writing awards. Most recently she was selected as a finalist in the Pacific Northwest Writers Association 2004 Literary Contest and received a 2004 Gold National Parenting Publications Award for "One Family, Two Family, New Family." She also received a 2001 nonfiction award from Willamette Writers for a personal-experience piece about her family and a 1999 Silver Award from Parenting Publications of America. She has received several fiction and nonfiction awards from the Pacific Northwest Writers Association, a second award from Willamette Writers and a business writing award from Associated Oregon Industries.

A graduate of Wesleyan University, Middletown, Connecticut, and Boston University's School of Public Communication, Lisa is a former staff reporter for the Cape Cod Times, a daily newspaper in Hyannis, Massachusetts. She is a former staff reporter for a trade newspaper published by Capital Cities/ABC Inc., New York City, and a former associate editor of Oregon Business.
